Before 2003 hackers were simply known as “hackers”, they hacked online communities and sites for both personal and financial reasons. Their involvement with the worlds governments were little or none. Facebook Home, an application which runs over the stock version of Android in order to give your device a more social environment. But is that really why Facebook have announced this new application? I think not, over the last two years the move from desktop devices to mobile devices has caused issues for many big websites, one being Facebook. The banner adverts that...

Since the release of Windows 8, I have seen a lot of people say they won’t be adopting because they think it is a complete waste of time. Comments such as “You need a touchscreen to use it” has plagued message boards and it is completely frustrating. Windows 8 is (for the most part) Windows 7 with an extra layer put on top. Despite the aesthetic...

iPhone 5S. The next Generation iPhone have been mentioned a little bit in every corner on the internet. We all know that certainly, Apple won’t skip it and iPhone 4S really proved that the iPhone XS series are to be expected before the model with a new appearance shows up. In my next two articles I will put into question something which many have wondered about. Apple have always been a very closed developer when it comes to both its desktop and mobile operating systems. Unlike the likes of Windows and Linux they have never made their OS open source for any hardware. It is the same with both their mobile OS and desktop OS. Unlike Android, i...

I’m not the owner of a Nintendo Wii, and I don’t plan to be in the future. However, I often visit a friend’s house who is a huge gaming geek and spends the majority of his life playing games to a point in which he has made a career out of it. Oddly for a hardcore gamer his favourite platform is the Nintendo line of devices, especially the Wii U console. But recently I spoke to him about ...

Apple released iOS 6.1 to the public on the 28th January. Since this many users have been having issues occur on their devices effecting the battery on their iDevice. Hardware and software go hand in hand and without one, it is hard to enjoy the other. But when it comes down to user experience what is more important? The software provides the interface while the hardware provides the power and design of that product. But is it better to have a sucky hardware and an amazing software or a sucky software and amazing hardware. That...

Unlike Facebook Twitter is an advert free site in many ways. You have no adverts within your timeline and have no pop-ups. However, in the past years Twitter has been working hard to make their microblogging site a more commercial one which will fund itself. One method of commercialising Twitter was launched in 2010 when the Facebook competitor launched “Pro...

Blackberry 10 has been out a number of weeks now and the mobile OS has seen a lot of media attention, for both good and bad reasons. When unveiling their new mobile OS along with their new smartphones Blackberry also changed their name from RIM to Blackberry, all very confusing but good in my opinion. All this is an attempt to save the once leading mobile manufacture...
